DESCRIPTION:This is a meeting that is special to all members.  A chance to get together at the end of the year and enjoy our favourite pottery. \nThe members start arriving during the morning\, anything from around 9.30 am to 10am and as you arrive there will be hot drinks and biscuits to refresh you. \nPlease bring something for the raffle\, a bottle of wine\, box of chocolates etc as that pays for the room. \nOther members will be setting out their pottery to sell\, this is why you need to be there as items come out of boxes and some go into hands\, money changes hands and the item never gets as far as the table. \nAt 12 noon the meeting is officially opened by the chairman and the buffet is open. there is a charge of £5 which is very good value for the feast made by the wonderful Sue and Louise. \nYou will then have an opportunity to look at the rare items in the auction\, pick up a bidding number and spend more money. I need to let you know here that you need to BRING LOTS OF CASH!!  Everyone is selling their own pottery plus after the auction when you have collected your purchases the sellers have to be paid out. \nYou will have a wonderful day out and will be planning your visit to the next meeting. \nWe have a Facebook group Hornsea Pottery Collectors please ask to join. \n

SUMMARY:SPRING MEETING CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19
DESCRIPTION:Always a popular meeting of course as it is in the the town of Hornsea where most of the pottery was made. \nRare items usually come to this meeting from former workers at the pottery so it is one not to miss. \nAfter the Winter break following the Christmas meeting this get together is much anticipated. \nThe official start of the meeting is at 11am for the AGM but the excitement begins much earlier as members arrive to set out their stalls and put the rarer pieces in the auction. So try to get there earlier. \nThere is tea and coffee plus soft drinks and biscuits on offer as you arrive and following the official opening at noon a wonderful buffet all for the inclusive cost of £4. \nThis meeting is one not to be missed as Hornsea Museum will be opened for the members even though it is a Sunday. As a member you receive free admission to the Hornsea Museum where you can visit at other times with your membership card too. DESCRIPTION:This is a meeting that everyone needs to attend. It is held at the home of some much loved members and you are able to see some of their collections. \nPLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT THE LAST SUNDAY IN JUNE AS IT HAS BEEN IN THE PAST. \nIf you love visiting beautiful gardens you will not be disappointed as their gardens are a picture. \nAs at every meeting tea\, coffee and soft drinks will be waiting as you arrive plus a wonderful buffet with lots of home grown ingredients at 12noon after the official welcome. This is all for only £4. It is possible there will be Sherry Trifle! \nAgain there will be rare items to buy. DESCRIPTION:Always a popular meeting of course as it is in the the town of Hornsea where most of the pottery was made. \nRare items usually come to this meeting from former workers at the pottery so it is one not to miss. \nAfter the Winter break following the Christmas meeting this get together is much anticipated. Especially as the Winter meeting had to be cancelled due to severe weather. \nThe official start of the meeting is at 11am for the AGM but the excitement begins much earlier as members arrive to set out their stalls and put the rarer pieces in the auction. So try to get there earlier. \nThere is tea and coffee plus soft drinks and biscuits on offer as you arrive and following the official opening at noon a wonderful buffet all for the inclusive cost of £4. \nThis meeting is one not to be missed as Hornsea Museum will be opened for the members even though it is a Sunday. As a member you receive free admission to the Hornsea Museum where you can visit at other times with your membership card too. DESCRIPTION:As the Winter Newsletter goes to press this is the time to plan your visit to the wonderful Christmas meeting at Pilley in South Yorkshire. \nWe are expecting a very rare piece of Hornsea Pottery to be in the auction. This is a Bust of a Girl lamp complete with shade. Very few were made\, probably about a dozen\, there is one in the Hornsea Museum. It has a bit of damage to the neck of the lamp which could easily be made good. A perfect one would be very expensive. \nAnother friendly meeting and you have time to join the collectors society before then or possibly buy membership as a gift for someone who loves Hornsea Pottery. \nI will always remember going to our first meeting and seeing so much of our favourite pottery on display. \nThere will be another wonderful buffet at noon plus tea/coffee and soft drinks and biscuits all day for the princely sum of £4. \nOh yes and a chunk of Christmas cake to take home! \n  \n

SUMMARY:Autumn meeting Great Ponton Lincolnshire 25.09.2016
DESCRIPTION:The Autumn meeting is held in Great Ponton which is right on the A1 so it is an easy venue to find. \nMembers will start to arrive around 10 am where they will be welcomed with a hot drink and a tray of biscuits. \nSoon there will be boxes of Hornsea Pottery being opened and the contents put out for sale or for the auction which will take place later in the afternoon. \nAround noon our Chairman will open the meeting and will offer thanks to everyone who has worked to make sure the meeting was succesful. This will be followed by our usual all you can eat delicious buffet including all drinks throughout the day. Only £4 each what a bargain. \nAfter everyone has had a chance to chat to friends old and new and look at the items in the auction we all take an auction number and hope we are able to add to our collections. While the cashiers deal with the paperwork the raffle is drawn\, most members bring a little raffle prize\, followed by a short talk from someone who has quite a lot of knowledge of Hornsea Pottery. \nWhen we have paid for our new pieces the chat continues before we tear ourselves away and travel home. \nMemberships are often for sale on Ebay. \nThere is a very friendly Facebook group Hornsea Pottery Collectors. Some people are society members but not all. \n

DESCRIPTION:Our members love this very special meeting held at the home of some lovely people who have been members of the Society for many years. If you love gardens just come for their wonderful displays! \nMembers start arriving from 9.30am onward and set out their stalls full of Hornsea Pottery. Some pieces never get as far as the table as eager hands reach for them to add to growing collections. \nAt noon the official part of the meeting opens when our Chairman welcomes everyone and thanks the people who have worked to make the day possible. He then invites us to enjoy the wonderful buffet\, only £4 for all you can eat plus drinks from the moment you arrive. You can then view the upcoming auction and decide which items you will bid on. There are always rare and scarce pieces to buy. \nWhen the auction is over the raffle is drawn while the paperwork is balanced and we usually have someone who will give an informative talk about our favourite pottery. \nThere is plenty of time through the day to talk to members who have more experience of the pottery and if you bring something that you are not sure about there will be someone to ask. \nIf you wish to join the society the memberships are listed on Ebay or send me your address via our contact page and I will send you a form. \nThere is a friendly Facebook group Hornsea Pottery Collectors\, Some people are members of the Society but not all. \n

DESCRIPTION:Due to the change of ownership and the leasing of the units at Hornsea Freeport we are moving our event to Hornsea Town Hall. We will be on the first floor with access by lift and stairs. \nOn this day the venue will be open to the public from 9am until 5pm when you can purchase Hornsea Pottery in Hornsea again. Our society members have been collecting this special pottery over many years and now they are bringing some of their collections for you to buy. \nThere will be plenty of tableware if you need to replace pieces or purchase a new set you like. Many members will be bringing the wonderful decorative ware too\, you will not be disappointed as there are many different ranges to collect. \nIf you are looking for specific items of tableware please contact us and we will try to help you to complete your set. \nThe Venue will also be open on Sunday April 10th but only from 9am until 12noon due to the society Annual General Meeting.
